Overview
Ognomy Sleep has raised $20 million in a Series A round in July 2026 to scale its virtual-first sleep apnea care platform. The company provides end-to-end sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment entirely through telehealth — from initial screening to at-home sleep testing, physician consultation, and therapy management.
The Problem
An estimated 30 million Americans have obstructive sleep apnea, but 80% remain undiagnosed. Traditional diagnosis requires an overnight stay in a sleep lab — expensive, inconvenient, and capacity-limited. Wait times for sleep studies can exceed 3 months, leaving millions with untreated sleep apnea that increases cardiovascular risk, cognitive decline, and workplace accidents.
The Solution
Ognomy ships FDA-cleared home sleep testing devices directly to patients, who complete the test in their own bed. Board-certified sleep physicians review results via telehealth, prescribe treatment, and provide ongoing therapy management through the platform. The entire process — from signup to diagnosis — typically takes under 2 weeks.
Business Model
Ognomy works with major insurers and self-insured employers, positioning sleep apnea treatment as a cost-savings play: untreated sleep apnea is associated with 2x higher healthcare utilization. The Series A will fund expansion to all 50 states and development of AI-assisted screening tools.
